Deerfield offers two versions of the LOCUS and C&A LOCUS software:
Clinical Reporter and Service Manager

Clinical Reporter

Clinical Reporter is the single user computerized version of the LOCUS and CALOCUS software line. Clinical Reporter simplifies the process of performing a LOCUS or CALOCUS clinical evaluation. First, the patient data entry screen prompts the evaluator to enter the patient's demographic information, current level of care, and, if desired, the working diagnosis. Next, the software will display six different dimension screens, each consisting of a series of parameters relating to the patient. Each evaluation parameter is defined along a scale of one to five, with each rating being defined by one or more criteria. Only one of these criteria need to be met for a rating to be assigned.

The software will then compute a total LOCUS score, and recommend a level of care. The evaluator can override this recommendation in the case that it is not available, or is disagreeable. This is done by typing a new level of care along with a reason for variance. The evaluator may choose a program name or type of referral service being provided or recommended for the patient. Additional information about the patient evaluation may also be entered as notes. Finally, a copy of the report can be printed and attached to the patient's medical record.

Clinical Reporter is meant for use on a standalone computer; it does not possess networking capabilities. Clinical Reporter is not designed for data aggregation. Upon completion of an evaluation, the information about each evaluation is not retained in the system.

Service Manager

Service Manager is an enhanced version of LOCUS / CALOCUS software. The design of Service Manager is predicated on the belief that the clinical picture for patients changes throughout their treatment experience. Thus, Service Manager features data aggregation and reporting capabilities.

Conducting an evaluation in Service Manager is just as quick and easy as it is in Clinical Reporter. However, after completing an evaluation, Service Manager stores the results in the system database. This information can be retrieved at a later date and used to create Status and History Reports for each patient. Information can also be retrieved and used for program reporting purposes. A number of reports showing summaries of your entire patient population can be created. Service Manager reports can be generated for any period of time, and include such features as status views, trends and color graphs.

Service Manager also has the capability of tracking patient progress and group patient data, and creating patient reports and network programs within a system. The group data feature allows an organization to review patient data according to the level of care, diagnosis by level of care, and the level of care change Variance Report. The Pending Inactivation Report is automatically displayed on the screen when the clinician activates the system. This report informs the clinician of any patients due for an evaluation or that need discharged from the system.

Service Manager features Security Access for the purpose of confidentiality of patient data. There are multiple security access levels that can fine-tuned for each user. This ensures that only the required patient information will be displayed. In addition, the system can be configured so that multiple facilities can interact with the same database, but they will not be able to see patient information from other facilities. This is ideal for larger entities, where you need the ability to see all patient data, but lower-level or third-party users must not have access to all of the records.

Service Manager is an excellent evaluation tool which represents a broad concensus of both clinicians and resource managers. This software product, with its many useful features, effectively helps to guide level of care decisions and resource utilization decisions.

Now Web-Enabled!

Service Manager just got even easier to use and maintain. The system can now be configured to run in the traditional Client/Server fashion, or accessed from anywhere in the world via the world wide web. You can even use the system in both modes at the same time! To see an on-line demonstration of the web-enabled Service Manager system, visit LOCUS Online.
